이것은 서울을 중심으로 활동하는 조각가, DJ, 모델, 퍼포머, 밈 콜렉터(Meme collector) 김솔이의 사건이다. 거짓말을 하고(하지만 스스로 그 거짓말을 믿어버리고), 미끼를 던지고(스스로 미끼가 되어 희생되고), 질투하고(그리하여 가열차게 추격하고), 주변인을 기꺼이 배신한(그럼으로써 속을 토해내듯 사랑한) 여섯 여성 인물로부터 영감을 받아, 모순을 끌어안고 굴절된 욕망을 담아내는 ‘여성됨’을 탐색한다. 브랜드의 쇼룸과 미술 전시 모두 다 이거나 양쪽 다 될 수 없는 이 사건은 서로를 받들어 모시는 동시에 배신하는 추하고도 찬란한 여성적 관계를 패션과 미술의 경계를 헤집는 도구로 삼는다.

Sollee Kim Solo Exhibition

YPC SPACE (4F, 258 Toegye-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul)
Introducing an incident initiated by Sollee Kim, Sculptor, DJ, model, performer, and meme-collector based in Seoul. Inspired by six women who lie (and fall for it wholeheartedly), throw decoys (or give sacrifice herself as the bait), envy (to act upon it on a vigorous chase), and betray the loved ones (thus loving them with all her guts), she explores what it means to “female” with all its contradictions and distorted desires. As both/neither a brand’s showroom and/nor an art show, this incident meddles with the risky boundary between fashion and art through the female relationship of adoration and betrayal.
