스튜디오 프로젝트 03. 플로렌스 램
세 번째 ‘스튜디오 프로젝트’의 초청 작가는 홍콩과 대만을 기반으로 활동하는 퍼포먼스 작가 플로렌스 램입니다. 플로렌스는 4월 18일부터 26일까지 YPC SPACE에서 퍼포먼스, 토크, 워크숍을 통해 에코페미니즘, 마술적 사유, 인간 너머의 서사 등을 기반으로 전개한 작업을 공유하고, 2021년부터 라이브 아트 플랫폼 Per.Platform을 조직해 온 경험을 바탕으로 퍼포먼스 공동체에 대한 생각을 펼칩니다.
플로렌스는 퍼포먼스, 시, 영상을 통해 정신적인 생산과 불임, 생물학적 몸과 언어를 통해 드러나는 가치 체계를 탐구해 왔습니다. 특히, 즉흥적이고 지속되는(durational) 퍼포먼스를 통해 우리가 세계와 만나고 여러 물질과 관계 맺는 양상의 변화에 주목합니다. YPC SPACE에서는 수시간 동안 유체(流體)를 다루며 몸으로 유동성과 무게, 저항과 화해를 탐색하는 퍼포먼스를 선보일 예정입니다. 더불어, 서울의 미술/퍼포먼스 현장과 만나 개별 작품 세계와 퍼포먼스 공동체의 관계를 적극적으로 포개며, 가부장적인 통제와 생산 구조 내에서 돌봄과 대안적 앎을 중심에 둔 모성적 연대의 가능성을 모색하고자 합니다.
*플로렌스 램(b.1992)은 홍콩과 대만을 기반으로 활동하며, M+, 타이쿤 컨템포러리, 파라사이트 등 미술 공간을 비롯하여 IMPORT/EXPORT (리보르노, 2023), Movement Festival (홍콩, 2022), Black market Internationa – Exploring 2021 (프랑크푸르트, 2021), A! Performance Festival (아퀴레이리) 등 공연예술 축제에서 작품을 선보였다. Paradise Air (도쿄), Surnadal Billag A/S (수르나달) 레지던시와 대만공연예술센터의 퍼포먼스 큐레이터 아카데미 Curatoké (타이페이)에 참여했다.

Studio Project 03. Florence Lam
The third Studio Project invites artist Florence Lam, who is based between Hong Kong and Taiwan. From April 18 to 26, Lam will present performances, talks, and workshops at YPC SPACE, sharing her practice rooted in ecofeminism, magical thinking, and more-than-human narratives. Drawing on her experience organizing the live art platform Per.Platform since 2021, she will also expand on her ideas around performance communities.
Working across performance, poetry, and video, Lam has explored the fertility and sterility of the mind, as well as value systems manifested through the biological body and language. In particular, through improvised and durational performances, she attends to shifting modes of encounter between humans, the world, and material relations. At YPC SPACE, she will present a performance that unfolds over several hours, engaging fluid substances through the body to explore liquidity and weight, resistance and reconciliation. In addition, by engaging with Seoul’s art and performance scene, she seeks to overlap her individual practice with community-building practices and to explore the potential for maternal values of solidarity grounded in care and alternative modes of learning within patriarchal systems of control and production.
Florence Lam (b. 1992) is a performance artist based in Hong Kong and Taiwan. She has presented her work at art institutions including M+, Tai Kwun Contemporary, and Para Site (Hong Kong), as well as at performance festivals such as IMPORT/EXPORT (Livorno, 2023), Movement Festival (Hong Kong, 2022), Black Market International – Exploring 2021 (Frankfurt, 2021), and A! Performance Festival (Akureyri). She has participated in residencies including Paradise Air (Tokyo) and Surnadal Billag A/S (Surnadal), and was part of Curatoké, the Performance Curator Academy at the Taipei Performing Arts Center.
