아워위크는 국내외 커머셜 갤러리, 프로젝트 스페이스, 콜렉티브 및 아트플랫폼까지 영리와 비영리, 장르와 분야의 경계를 허물고 한 자리에 모여 다양한 아트씬 안에서 폭넓은 네트워킹을 도모하는 페스티벌입니다. 전시, 퍼포먼스, 다이닝, 그리고 파티까지 우리들이 함께 만들어갈 일주일이 곧 시작됩니다.
OUR WEEK is a festival that gathers commercial galleries, project spaces, art collectives, and art platforms together with the goal of breaking down barriers between mainstream and underground, genres and fields to enrich the art scene.
YPC SPACE
YPC SPACE는 미술 비평 콜렉티브 옐로우 펜 클럽이 운영하는 비영리 공간으로, 전시 및 프로그램을 진행한다. 옐로우 펜 클럽은 2015년부터 미술 전시 리뷰를 쓰는 스터디 모임에서 출발하여 온라인을 기반으로 활동해 왔다. 2022년 3월에 오프라인 공간 YPC SPACE를 열고 미술 전시와 더불어 강의, 세미나, 워크숍 등의 프로그램을 운영하고 있다. 상호 배움과 피드백 시스템을 확장한 다학제적 프로그램을 기획·운영하고 있으며, 다양한 창작자의 실험적 시도와 협력을 도모하는 실천을 지향하고 지원한다.
YPC SPACE is a non-profit space for exhibitions and programs run by art writers’ collective Yellow Pen Club. Based on a group of three reading and writing around art, Yellow Pen Club launched a website where the three members uploaded pieces of their writing: www.yellowpenclub.com. Since its launch in March 2022, YPC SPACE has operated as a space for exhibitions as well as lectures, seminars, and workshops. Yellow Pen Club’s methodology of mutual learning and intimate feedback plays an imperative role in interdisciplinary programs, which in turn organically develops into exhibitions. YPC SPACE also supports and encourages experiments and collective approaches of artists from various fields.
한진 (b.1985, 전주; 서울에서 활동)
한진은 지속적으로 사물과 동물, 인간의 수평적이고 유기적인 관계와 쉽게 버려 지는 물건에 대한 관심을 원동력 삼아 드로잉과 회화를 그려왔다. 게임이나 만화에 등장하는 캐릭터의 문법을 경유하되 만화의 작법을 따르기보다 신체에 대한 감각과 판타지를 펼치는 데 집중한다. 최근작 <PEX: Painting Sex> 시리즈는 회화를 그리는 과정에서 작가와 작품 사이에서 일어나는 역동에 주목하며, 캐릭터라는 틀에서 벗어나 보다 추상적 표현으로 나아간다. 회화를 그리는 과정에서 작가는 모종의 힘을 가해 평면을 변화시키고, 변화한 평면은 다시 작가에게 모종의 감정적 변화를 일으킨다. 이러한 주고받음에서 발생하는 쾌는 평면 위에서 감정과 에너지가 결집한 시각적 폭발로 나타난다.
Han Gene (b.1985, Jeonju; Lives and works in Seoul)
Inspired by objects that are easily discarded and imagining the horizontal and organic relationship between objects, animals, and humans, Han Gene paints and draws. Han references the style of computer games and manga, focusing on creating phantasies of alternative bodies rather than following the conventional character-drawing techniques to the teeth. Her recent series PEX: Painting Sex highlights the dynamics between the artist and her works during the process of painting, pronouncing a unique abstract expression and removing the works from the stereotypes of the manga character. Her paintings involve an interaction where her actions alter the flat surface while the affected canvas in turn pushes back with emotional impact. This exchange, often pleasurable, results in a visual explosion within the canvas, fraught with emotion and energy.
